People generally agree that the naked female form is more beautiful than the male. The general arguments before it are that women have curves and musculature less obvious, or that the male organs are functional. But what makes a good photograph of naked women? There are three fundamental principles.

While the difference might be a bit, it's all about intention. Nude photographs fits that definition of art with the intention of producing only "interesting". Erotic photography on the other hand, is intended to excite or arouse the viewer, and might not be so interesting.
Given that what is "non-sexual 'for one person to another can be sexual, of course, is impossible for a photographer to see if your intention of producing a nude photograph instead of an erotic will be recognized by the public. For this reason, at least in the Western countries, some conventions (like getting out of the genital region in the dark shadow) continue to give an indication of the intention behind the photograph.
